"Boston and Detroit are the closest"...Bregman's final recruitment battle → Impact of Kim Ha-sung's future

Alex Bregman was linked to the Boston Red Sox in 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) stove league infielder.

MLB.COM, the website of MLB, said, "The New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, and New York Mets are connected to FA third baseman Bregman, but the most likely destinations are Boston and Detroit Tigers." MLB.COM added that Boston has made efforts to recruit the mound this winter, including Garrett Crochet, Walker Buehler, Patrick Sandoval, Aroldis Chapman, Justin Wilson, and Giovani Moran, but has not yet signed a contract with the FA batter. 안전놀이터

Since his debut with the Houston Astros in 2016, Bregman has played in 1,111 games during the nine seasons (2016-2024) with a batting average of 0.272, 191 homers, 663 RBIs, and 694 runs. He is a player who is well suited to be called a "big infielder" as he recorded 41 homers in the 2019 season. He has also recorded more than 20 homers in the last three consecutive seasons.

According to the Fangraph, Boston's payroll currently stands at 172 million dollars. Bregman could be acquired. MLB.COM reported that Boston could use a scenario in which Bregman could be used as a second baseman or Raphael Devers could be transferred to first base and Triston Casas could be used as a trade card.

Boston ranked third in the American League East with 81 wins and 81 losses in the 2024 season. The team was the lowest with 78 wins and 84 losses in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. It failed to advance to the postseason for three consecutive seasons since the 2021 season, making it a dent in its pride as a "famous family." To survive in the AL East, which has the strongest average global power, the team realized its biggest weakness this winter. Recruiting Bregman could be the culmination of its campaign.

Although the contract has not been announced yet, Bregman is expected to deliver the last big deal this winter. Yankees, Mets, and Toronto have joined the recruitment campaign. Detroit, which has already strengthened its infield by signing Gleyber Torres, who was the Yankees' main second baseman, is also "all-in" with Bregman.

The news of Bregman's contract could also affect "Korean Big Leaguer" Kim Ha-sung. Although the positions do not overlap, the team that missed Bregman may want Kim Ha-sung, who can even play the entire third base defense to reinforce the infield. This is why attention is focused on the progress of Bregman's contract.
